The Wolston Fields Quarry is a relatively small sand and gravel extraction situated in the Warwickshire countryside. The permitted area is at various stages of development from greenfield grassland through to working quarry and finally restored land. It is so important that our community understands the work Smith’s do in terms of biodiversity throughout all stages of the quarrying lifecycle and that biodiversity can be enhanced throughout all these stages.

This project aims to educate as many members of the community and visiting public as possible by erecting information boards along a section of footpath that meanders through the quarry and beyond.

Input on what information to put on the boards will be through collaboration with Smith’s, the Dunsmore Living Landscape Scheme (DLL) and St Margaret’s Primary School, Wolston.

The project will show how Smiths can contribute positively to the community in which it operates.
